"HOGlish"....
What did they say?? What are they talking about? Do I want to what?
Ever walk into a meeting and wonder what the heck you were thinking going there? What do these people do? What language do they speak? Are they even talking to me? What the heck is a "run"? What is a "poker run"? How do I "50/50"? Keeping that in mind, here are some quick peeks at some of the types of activities many chapters are involved in. This is only a sampling of the types of events that chapters offer. To see what our chapter has planned, check out our calendar or visit our local H-D® dealer and look for one of our newsletters HOGCALL.
So, never fear.......we'll try to define what we're talking about.......
50/50 drawing: A 50/50 drawing means that the total pot is split into two parts: one for the winner and one for the sponsoring chapter, tickets are generally sold one for $1 or seven for $5. Great way for a chapter to raise money for its favorite charity, or even to raise funds for the chapter - maybe to help pay for its holiday party or annual picnic.

Parades: A great way to show your Harley® Pride and give your local

Poker run: A Poker run is an organized event where participants must visit five to seven checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. Poker runs usually require a fee to enter; part of the fee goes to funding the event, including the prizes, while the rest goes to the event's charity recipient.
Observation runs: A chance to ride and learn.
Overnighters: A ride that will require an overnight stay.
Pick up: A secondary location where you can meet the riders on
their way to the destination.
Toy runs: A popular activity that provides toys to sick or needy
children.
Holiday events: Parties, group visits – all sorts of holiday fun.
Safe Rider Programs: When enough chapter members complete accredited
courses, H.O.G.® awards special recognition.
Charity events: Do some good while having a great time!
Volunteering: Our chapters has a variety of activities you can
volunteer for – anything from helping at an event to becoming a
chapter officer.
Rides: Short rides, long rides, even overnight adventures – building
memories and stories to tell. Isn't that what it's all about?
